Austin Wintory drops his most bloodcurdling soundtrack in years—listen to Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 now

The Grammy-winning composer definitely has a thing for Xenomorphs.

Almost two years after the release of the Aliens: Fireteam Elite soundtrack, the Grammy-winning American composer behind Sword of the Sea is back for its direct sequel. Released on PC and consoles a few weeks ago, this third-person action game challenges players to survive relentless waves of Xenomorphs.

Delivering epic encounters and palpable tension, the game owes much of its adrenaline-fueled atmosphere to Austin Wintory's pulse-pounding score. Clocking in at 16 tracks and just over an hour of music, the AFE2 OST was broken down in detail by Wintory himself on his YouTube channel.

I had SO damn much fun returning to this franchise and getting more weird and loud with everything. Large brass section, antiphonal cellos, banging on airplane engine parts, crunchy bass, wild analog/modular synths, bari saxes, haunting ‪@RachelHardy‬ vocals!... simply too much fun:)

On a related note, news broke a few days ago that British duo The Flight will return to score Alien: Isolation 2, which is expected in the coming years. The veteran composers brilliantly scored the first entry and recently worked on 007 First Light, as well as Assassin's Creed Shadows.
