On top of featuring an opening theme composed by David Arnold and performed by Lana Del Rey, IO Interactive's latest smash hit brought in the British (of course) duo The Flight to score 007 First Light.
Across 38 tracks and roughly two hours of music, Joe Henson and Alex Smith brilliantly build upon the Bond legacy. They bring a fresh, modern edge to the sleek image of the Crown's young spy without ever dulling its gloss. It is a score packed with personality that avoids the trap of pastiche—reminiscent of the incredible attention to detail Gordy Haab brings when channeling John Williams for the Star Wars games.
That being said, British duo Chase & Status have yet to release the exclusive track they composed for the game, which plays in the background during an early nightclub mission. Just, come on guys!
Since its release on May 27, 007 First Light—currently available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and coming soon to Switch 2—has already received a steady stream of extra content. It will soon welcome a bonus mission centered around the character Bawma, played by Lenny Kravitz. Critically acclaimed across the board, the game currently sits at a cool 87/100 on OpenCritic.
