I only stumbled upon INDUSTRIA 2 this morning while sifting through the usual wave of Friday releases. Looking into it, I'm surprised it flew under my radar when it launched back in April. A narrative-driven first-person shooter set in a parallel dimension? Sign me up. Either way, I've spent a good chunk of this rainy morning vibing to its soundtrack, which is now streaming wherever you get your music. With the artist active on Bandcamp, I'd wager it'll drop over there later today as well. Keep an eye out!
German electronic producer No Bloom Now is back on scoring duties for the follow-up to INDUSTRIA, pushing things even further this time around. He crafts an intriguing sonic palette filled with chilling pads, ambient static, and gritty industrial textures that contrast sharply with the occasional organic instrument slipping into the mix ("After the Rain"). Better yet, the album features a handful of melancholic, fully fleshed-out vocal tracks reminiscent of Son Lux or Baths ("Hint of Light").
All of which is to say that INDUSTRIA 2 makes for the perfect soundtrack to tide you over until the Silent Hill: Townfall OST arrives. Speaking of which: I reached out to composer Pilotpriest on Instagram the other day to ask for an ETA. As you might expect from an Annapurna/Konami joint, the soundtrack's rollout isn't entirely up to him.
