I wasn't even born when Streets of Rage came out, but I know the mark the Sega classic—and Yuzo Koshiro's landmark soundtrack—left on the industry. Case in point: its influence is still visible today. HYPERFIGHT 2 isn't an outright Streets of Rage clone, but it taps straight into that same swagger. Hear for yourself with its banging soundtrack, which is streaming globally now that the game has entered Early Access on Steam.
Helmed by Japanese composer steelplus, the OST packs ten '90s, Sega-pilled bops that will also scratch that funky itch if you're a fan of, say, Epoch (Paradise Killer) or Garoad (VA-11 Hall-A). I've had this on repeat since waking up, and I'm nowhere near ready to switch up the playlist.
In the unlikely event that it's not your cup of tea, fear not: we have plenty more standout soundtracks to chew on today. Blizzard just dropped the World of Warcraft: Forever OST, and The Blood of Dawnwalker—the score to Rebel Wolves' debut game—is also streaming wherever you listen to music.
