It sounds like the beginning of a great story. Last month, while I was sharing my recommendation list for Bandcamp Friday on Reddit, a certain Eric Guenther stopped by to plug the link to an album he had just released—the soundtrack for a cyberpunk visual novel coming out later this year called Code Breach. Fun fact: he introduced himself as the keyboardist for the progressive metal band The Contortionist, a group I love and saw opening for Periphery in Paris several years ago!
One of those moments that really makes you realize it's a small world. Today, Eric is releasing this fantastic album on all platforms, which he personally considers less of an OST and more of “a love letter to French Touch and J-Fusion,” as he wrote on his Instagram. He cites M83, Air, Carpenter Brut, and Casiopea as his biggest influences. Needless to say, that gives you a pretty good idea of the overall vibe.
In any case, I am now looking forward to discovering the game that will feature such a cool soundtrack. And, of course, to following the future path of this seasoned composer who, I am sure, will easily find his place in the VGM galaxy.
