Nintendo reveals The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Concert world tour

Everything you need to know about the upcoming orchestral tour kicking off in January 2027.

I was certainly expecting music-related announcements during Tuesday's Nintendo Direct celebrating 40 years of The Legend of Zelda. What I didn't see coming, however, was Nintendo kicking things off with an extended medley teasing a full concert tour set to begin in early 2027 with multiple dates across Japan. More details will be shared soon at zelda.gameconcerts.com.

The Japanese publisher dedicated a substantial portion of the anniversary Direct to showcasing the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, slated exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5. To mark the occasion, a first preview track is already available to stream on Nintendo Music.

It's thrilling to see Nintendo fully embrace Zelda's musical legacy, complete with iconic composer Koji Kondo taking the stage during the Direct to introduce this exclusive concert series. With the vinyl edition of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild dropping just last week, I'll admit I was also hoping for a vinyl box set reveal for Ocarina of Time or Tears of the Kingdom.

Still, with Nintendo, anything is possible: just this spring, the company dropped the Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 original soundtracks exclusively on Spotify to celebrate the theatrical release of the animated film.
