Nintendo releases 10 tracks for its quirky life-sim Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

Nintendo releases 10 tracks for its quirky life-sim Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream

It’s a massive day for the gaming world. On top of the back-to-back releases of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire and Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss, we now have the launch of the wacky and elusive Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on Switch and Switch 2.

Often wrongly compared to Animal Crossing, Living the Dream is the sequel to the 3DS cult classic released in 2013 (and 2014 worldwide). Closer to The Sims than Animal Crossing, the game involves filling a village with your own custom characters and watching them evolve, nudging them in the right direction. It’s an observation game of sorts, where the unpredictable meets the absurd.

Since the characters in Tomodachi Life are Miis, the music channels the vibe of the Wii Shop or, naturally, the original Wii Mii Channel. These upbeat, slightly goofy tracks perfectly complement the visual style of Nintendo’s latest title. According to the specialized site VGMdb, the soundtrack was composed by Shinobu Nagata, Reika Nakai, Kairi Hamada, and Toru Minegishi.

As has become standard for Nintendo, the Nintendo Music app now features the first 10 tracks from what we expect to be a substantial OST. The Japanese giant has made a habit of posting a small selection of tracks to coincide with its new releases—as was the case with Metroid Prime 4: Beyond last year.
