For years, FF XIV fans have been champing at the bit. Good things come to those who wait: as proof, Square Enix is releasing the OST dubbed "Growing Light" today on Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms, compiling tracks that span the end of the Endwalker era (patches 6.1 to 6.5). Still composed, of course, by the tireless Masayoshi Soken, the soundtrack features 93 tracks totaling over six hours of music. Find the comprehensive credits over at VGMdb.
Following its usual release strategy, Square Enix is sticking to a two-year delay before adding its original soundtracks to streaming platforms. Growing Light has indeed been available for purchase on CD or via iTunes since June 2024. With the anniversary of the latest expansion, Dawntrail, approaching (in July 2024), it is highly likely that its own soundtrack will soon make its way to Spotify and more.
Earlier this year, Square Enix shook up the VGM world by dropping the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth OST on streaming platforms. To this day, it remains the longest original soundtrack of 2026, with 175 tracks clocking in at nearly 10 hours of music. In recent weeks, the NieR Replicant ver.1.22 soundtrack also made its appearance after a five-year wait.
