After six long years in the early access trenches, Dischan Media’s action game is finally entering its 1.0 era. While the community has been steadily warming to it throughout development, Mahou Arms makes its mark by blending a heavy anime aesthetic with gameplay vibes reminiscent of NieR: Automata. To celebrate the official launch, composer Dale North teamed up with singer Pernelle (known for Stellar Blade and NIKKE) to deliver a high-octane opening cinematic. You can check it out below.
But the hype doesn't stop there: the full soundtrack, boasting 21 tracks, has officially landed on all streaming platforms. It’s a polished piece of work that feels deeply "J-RPG"—balancing sublime orchestration with electronic textures that perfectly drive the heroine through her combat sequences. It’s a fitting evolution for North, who first put himself on the map with the Wizard of Legend OST back in 2018.
On a side note: if Pernelle’s vocals have your name written all over them, you’ll want to check out her first EP with her band Paon. It sounds like a lost soundtrack from a Persona game that never actually made it to the shelves.
