Dutch DJ Daniel Wanrooy turns HypnoTiles into a worthy Tetris Effect successor

A short but striking EDM soundtrack.

It's a big day for electronic music. Following the release of the ChainDive OST, we're turning our attention to an even lesser-known title: HypnoTiles. Released last month on PC, this Tetris offspring flew completely under the radar... but trust me, giving its soundtrack a listen might just convince you to check it out.

Composed by Dutch DJ Daniel Wanrooy (known for remixing Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, and other EDM legends), the HypnoTiles original soundtrack doesn't pull any punches. True to the game's name, it throws you into a near-hypnotic state of trance. Heart-pounding bass, melodic synths, and eerie pads are just some of the ingredients the producer uses to put you in an altered state.

Senile Team's inspiration for their game is pretty obvious: Tetris Effect. Even if HypnoTiles doesn't go quite as far or look quite as polished as its role model, the puzzle game relies on synesthesia to literally mesmerize its players. If you're a fan of Hydelic's musical work, the HypnoTiles soundtrack is very likely to strike a chord.
