One more lap: the F-Zero 99 soundtrack debuts on Nintendo Music

We can't exactly call F-Zero Nintendo's most active license. In fact, F-Zero 99—the free-to-play title launched in 2023 on Switch—remains the official latest entry in the series (and the only one since 2004). Anyway, here's the kicker: the Japanese giant is finally dusting off the archives to drop the full F-Zero 99 soundtrack on its streaming platform. You can give it a spin right here (Switch Online subscription required).

For the most part, this racing battle royale soundtrack features the franchise's iconic anthems, such as 'Mute City', 'Big Blue', 'Death Wing', and several others. The collection boasts 44 tracks in total, with several of them compatible with Nintendo Music's extended track feature to create longer loops.

In typical Nintendo fashion, we’re left wondering who actually composed these tracks. However, since F-Zero 99 borrows heavily from the inaugural opus released on SNES back in 1990, it’s a safe bet that these are just barely modernized arrangements composed by Yumiko Kanki and Naoto Ishida.

I’d like to take this new addition to Nintendo Music to give a shout-out to the incredible archiving work Polley01 does daily to keep the music service updated. You can find a complete and up-to-date database of everything the platform offers at this address. Thanks for the heavy lifting, Polley!
