Olivier Deriviere Unveils "Patera" From the A Plague Tale: Legacy Soundtrack

Olivier Deriviere is keeping the hype alive for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Just a few weeks after dropping a first teaser, the French composer—and long-time collaborator with Asobo Studio—has released the track "Patera" across all streaming platforms. You can listen to it right below.

This piece is more intimate than "The Land", putting the spotlight on singer Vasiliki Anatasiou and her Amalgamation choir. They are expected to be featured heavily throughout the Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy original soundtrack.

Premiered exclusively via GameSpot a few days ago, the track—whose name means "father" in Greek—explores one of the game's core themes. “The lyrics and music speak to a strong yet invisible connection with [Sophia's] own father,” says composer Olivier Deriviere. “That said, I believe the song reaches far beyond the game’s narrative. It can powerfully evoke the experiences that many children carry with them throughout their lives. Vasiliki’s performance as the female soloist is incredibly touching and intimate, while the choir provides both emotional and musical support that feels truly essential.”

Set 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale and its sequel, Resonance is an action game that seems to draw heavy inspiration from early Assassin's Creed gameplay. Several gameplay clips are already available on YouTube to give you a solid idea of what to expect before the game hits PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 27.
