Nintendo is switching up its release schedule on the Nintendo Music app once again, dropping the full soundtrack for Super Mario Sunshine—the iconic (yet divisive) GameCube 3D platformer—this Thursday. Listen to it now on Nintendo Music (Nintendo Switch Online membership required).
Released in 2002, Super Mario Sunshine immediately brings back fond memories for me. Perhaps less for its pure gameplay mechanics than for being the first Mario game I ever truly played (I was nine years old). In this inverse Splatoon (think about it: your goal is literally cleaning up the mess on Isle Delfino!), players explore a colorful, sun-drenched, yet refreshing world accompanied by gentle melodies crafted—as you've probably guessed—by master composer Koji Kondo.
As usual for Nintendo Music, you can choose between a curated "best-of" selection featuring 30 tracks from Super Mario Sunshine or dive straight into the full 58-track release, clocking in at around an hour and a half.
Last week, Nintendo offered subscribers a sneak peek at the promising soundtrack for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. As a reminder, the official soundtracks for Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 remain available to stream on Spotify.
