As the Konami Code turns 40, all the Gradius OSTs hit Spotify and Apple Music

Konami has unveiled its plans for the Konami Code anniversary celebrations—the legendary button sequence that has essentially become a meme 40 years later. Along with a mountain of merch, the Japanese studio is releasing the missing soundtracks for several titles in the Gradius franchise, as well as its spinoffs Nemesis and Salamander, on streaming platforms. Other entries were already available for streaming under the artist "Konami Kukeiha Club" (コナミ矩形波倶楽部 on Spotify)—Konami is simply filling in the gaps here.

The full lineup includes Gradius (FC), Gradius II (FC/NES), Gradius III (SFC/SNES), Nemesis (Game Boy), Nemesis II (Game Boy), and Salamander (FC/NES). You can find all of them via my shortlink service below, which lets you easily navigate between the different albums.

By the way, try entering the Konami Code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A) on any page at nwpl.ing—you might be in for a surprise.

This announcement from Konami comes on the heels of another major anniversary: Mario is turning 40, and Nintendo is celebrating by releasing the Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 OSTs on Spotify in an unprecedented, exclusive move.
