San Diego Comic-Con has delivered its usual haul of juicy intel on Insomniac's next project, Marvel's Wolverine. Still slated for a September 15 release, this high-octane action game is getting a soundtrack from David Flemming—the composer who recently made waves with the score for the Superman film and the hit Apple TV series Widows Bay.
The first preview, aptly titled "Logan," serves as a compelling statement of intent for the game's musical direction. You can add it to your streaming platforms right now.
Clocking in at over six minutes, this long track acts as a sweeping introduction to the protagonist, shifting through several movements to showcase the various facets of his personality. For me, it’s a first taste that leaves you craving more, especially after (and this is a personal take) the somewhat "safe" scores by John Paesano for Marvel's Spider-Man and its sequel.
Moving away from the more open structure of the Spider-Man titles, Wolverine leans heavily into the gory, visceral nature of its combat. Speaking of which, Sony shared a new gameplay sequence during SDCC that is absolutely drenched in hemoglobin. You can check it out here.
