While Mario Tennis Fever launched a few weeks ago on the Switch 2, Nintendo has added the soundtrack of the previous installment, Mario Tennis Aces (2018), to its Nintendo Music app. It’s a relatively short OST by Nintendo standards, featuring 26 tracks totaling 1.5 hours of music.
Two playlists offer an alternative way to experience the soundtrack: one gathers the themes from the various tennis courts, while the other features "extended tracks," allowing songs to be looped for long-term background listening.
As is typical for Nintendo, no credit is given to the individual musicians who worked on the game. However, according to VGMdb experts, the legendary Motoi Sakuraba headed the project under the supervision of industry icons like Koji Kondo and Kazumi Totaka. This isn’t particularly surprising, given that Mario Tennis Aces was developed by Camelot—the studio behind the Golden Sun series, for which Sakuraba also composed the music.
Recently, Nintendo broke the internet by releasing the Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 soundtracks exclusively on Spotify for the first time ever. While this is a limited-time event, it may pave the way for more releases of this kind from the Japanese giant.
