Rev your engines: Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is only 36 days away! The highly anticipated new entry in the beloved series is set to release on October 2 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S—and Bandai Namco is teasing us with a first listen of its main theme, performed live by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. The track is slated to hit all streaming platforms on September 19, but you can get an early listen on YouTube below.
Recorded last January as part of the ACE COMBAT/S THE SYMPHONY 30TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT, the theme (presumably titled "Wings of Theve") features vocals by Haruna Minato, backed by a full orchestra and the ACE COMBAT special band, consisting of Takanori Goto on lead guitar, Yosuke Iwai on rhythm guitar, Keigo Hoashi and Emi Kawaji on keyboards, Tatsuhiko Kashima on bass, and Shoji Hirakawa on drums. The album is available to purchase over at CD Japan and other retailers.
Over the past few months, Bandai Namco has been busy dusting off older Ace Combat soundtracks to bring them to streaming services. In late June, it was Ace Combat 04's turn to hit Spotify and other platforms.
