These days, when people aren't obsessing over the remake of Ocarina of Time or GTA VI, they're hyping up two of the year's buzziest indies: Queen's Domain and Probably Stolen. While I'll have another chance to dive into the former's shop theme, I owe you an apology: Probably Stolen's OST slipped right under my radar when it launched in late October—and it's absolute bliss.
For the uninitiated, you play as a shopkeeper on a space station, inspecting suspect merchandise to determine whether it's legit (hence the title) while pledging allegiance to rival factions. Gameplay-wise, it sits squarely at the crossroads of Papers, Please and Coffee Talk. And, for the music, you're in for a lush, synthwave-soaked score that wears its cyberpunk influences proudly on its sleeve.
Crafted by French producer A.L.I.S.O.N, it ranks among the best in its lane—even if it is criminally brief, offering just seven tracks to sink your teeth into. Despite having been out for barely a week, the game has reportedly surpassed 750K sales on Steam, and several tracks have already racked up over 10K streams on Spotify.
Make sure to add the album to your wishlist, as Bandcamp Friday returns tomorrow! I'll have my usual roundup ready with plenty of fresh VGM recommendations.
