I quickly lost interest in Pragmata. Its aesthetic doesn't really speak to me, nor does its gameplay—which is supposedly its main selling point. Regardless, it’s another success for Capcom, adding to a winning streak they’ve been on since the start of the year.
Released last week on April 17th, Pragmata has already sold over a million copies, a very solid performance for a new IP. Interestingly, Capcom kept the game's original release date, April 24th, for the launch of the OST. And yes, it’s rare enough to mention: Pragmata's release was actually moved up by a week. Anyway, it’s out now, and the soundtrack for this unique sci-fi space TPS has arrived on (almost) all streaming platforms.
Composer Yasumasa Kitagawa is the man behind the music. A Capcom veteran who previously worked at Konami, he’s been heard on various Resident Evil and Monster Hunter titles, the Ghost Trick remake, and several arcade music compilations.
The soundtrack is relatively short by Capcom’s standards. They had previously shared an EP to give us a taste of the music. The 46 tracks, ranging from piano ballads to electronic scores backing the game’s frantic action, are now all available to stream on Spotify, Deezer, and other platforms.
Earlier this week, Capcom was also in the news for releasing the Monster Hunter Stories 3 soundtrack.
