Tracking new VGM releases since 2022

Guillaume David strikes again with the gorgeous soundtrack to Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus II

It’s the event of the week for Warhammer fans: Mechanicus II is out today, and its amazing soundtrack by Guillaume David is already available on all streaming platforms.

The French composer, as enigmatic as ever (nowhere to be found on social media, never talking to the press), made a huge splash back in 2020 with the impressive soundtrack for the first Mechanicus, for which he recorded the organ at the Saint-Pierre cathedral in Angoulême. "Children of the Omnissiah," the opening track, has now racked up nearly 26 million streams on Spotify alone. This new album kicks off with "Children of the Omnissiah Part II," a track for which I also predict a bright future.

Released as part of the tenth anniversary of the Warhammer Skulls showcase, this soundtrack comes alongside the music for the three Total War: Warhammer games, totaling over 12 hours of music.
