Akira Yamaoka's haunting score for Remothered: Red Nun's Legacy is now streaming

The legendary Silent Hill composer teams up with Aram Shahbazians for the trilogy's chilling finale.

Silent Hill's legendary composer is back with yet another horror score. As Stormind Games' trilogy draws to a close with the release of Remothered: Red Nun's Legacy later today, Akira Yamaoka and Aram Shahbazians have dropped the soundtrack early across all major streaming platforms. To be fair, Yamaoka is primarily a guest artist here (though let's be honest, would you have clicked on this headline without his name?). The lion's share of the Remothered soundtrack was actually composed by Aram Shahbazians—a seasoned Krakow-based composer whose past credits include Enotria: The Last Song, diegetic tracks for Cyberpunk 2077, and the Redout racing franchise. Playing it relatively safe, the score weaves an unsettling atmosphere through ominous textures, a mournful cello, and sparse, haunting choral motifs.

Yamaoka himself has been on a creative roll lately. Between his guest tracks for the French indie horror game Decarnation and his standout work on the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime (he didn't return for season 2), his signature grunge-ambient touch remains unmistakable. His recent score for Slitterhead stands out as one of his finest modern efforts: even if the game itself struggled critically and commercially, don't sleep on the OST.
