With only a few days left before the release of the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remake, Ubisoft Music is teasing us with an "Ultimate Collection" of the game's sea shanties. This album is quite a bit beefier than the two volumes released alongside the original game back in 2013, which featured a total of 41 tracks.
Ubisoft has brought back the original artists while also introducing some new faces to deliver on their promise of an ultimate collection, packed with 57 tracks. It is a massive album, kicked off by a haunting rendition of "Leave Her Johnny" by Woodkid. It is fun to see the French singer back with the franchise that helped put him on the map 15 years ago—his hit song "Iron" was used in the promotional campaign for Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
While largely driven by Irish singer Sean Dagher, this is very much a collaborative album, featuring numerous contributions from Nils Brown, Michiel Schrey, and Charlotte Cumberbirch, all of whom were already featured in the original Black Flag. If you are craving more sea shanties, don't forget that Ubisoft Music also released two similar albums for Skull and Bones. You can find them right here.
Laced Records also opened up pre-orders for the Assassin's Creed Black Flag: Resynced vinyl box set some weeks ago.
