The Original Animal Crossing OST Has Been Added to Nintendo Music

It’s a great day for life sim fans. After adding the final missing tracks to the Animal Crossing: New Horizons catalog a few days ago, Nintendo has dropped the full original soundtrack from the first game, Animal Crossing. The title originally launched on the Nintendo 64 in Japan in 2001 before hitting the GameCube everywhere else between 2002 and 2003.

In total, there are 158 tracks—totaling over 5 hours and 18 minutes of music—available to help you get through the start of this already-too-long week (is it vacation time yet?). As usual, Nintendo had the good sense to make it all more digestible with a playlist featuring the 42 "best" tracks from the OST. Other themed playlists are also available via Nintendo Music. As a reminder, access to the app requires a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Unsurprisingly, Nintendo hasn’t included any credits or info about the people who contributed to the soundtrack. One can imagine that, as with other entries in the franchise, Kazumi Totaka did the bulk of the work.
