I mentioned this yesterday: the soundtrack to the French Lovecraftian thriller Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is well worth a listen. Composed by Nicolas Garcia, and featuring Tina Guo and the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, it’s a sensitive OST that floats between fantasy and horror. It’s a remarkable piece of work that really stands out from the typical horror game soundtracks we’ve grown used to.
As it turns out, you’ll soon be able to add this record to your collection. G4F, who also produced the soundtrack, has announced the upcoming release of a vinyl (LP) and a CD for Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss. They will retail for €35 and €15 respectively. No specific release date or window has been announced yet.
G4F has been on a roll since the beginning of the year. The French studio is set to release the dreamlike soundtrack for the climbing game Cairn later this year, as well as the one for Styx: Blades of Greed. G4F also premieres the first track for the upcoming game from Wild Wits (Crown Gambit), Sovereign Tower, performed by bardcore artist Hildegard von Blingin'.
