Few composers can boast a style as recognizable as Tomáš Dvořák, aka Floex. Highly praised for the incredible soundtrack of Machinarium (back in 2009, already…), the Czech producer naturally returns to score the latest project from Amanita Design.
The Czech studio, which specializes in puzzle games unlike any other, has just released Phonopolis, an adventure game inspired by avant-garde art, in which you lead a revolution against a dictator. It is a treat for the eyes, of course, but also for the ears thanks to Floex's impeccable work.
The music of Phonopolis stays true to the composer's previous work while venturing into new territory. If I had to venture a comparison, think of a marriage between Amos Roddy (Citizen Sleeper), Joel Schoch (FAR), and Cristobal Tapia de Veer (Utopia, The White Lotus). Pure magic, to be listened to without moderation on your favorite platform and on Bandcamp.
