Tracking new VGM releases since 2022

Welcome to NOWPLAYING – Video game music, curated daily

The name is Pierre, I'm a French journalist with a strong interest in video games—especially video game music (VGM). Online, I go by Peterline6, and I've been tracking new VGM releases for a while now. You can get a little more context about the project on the about page.

Since 2022, NOWPLAYING has taken many shapes and forms, and most people who have been following me already know my Patreon page, where I share weekly rundowns, music recommendations, guest bylines, VGM playlists and more. The thing is: Patreon is a very limited outlet for what I do. Today, I want to broaden my horizons and appeal to a wider, international audience.

If you're here, it must be because you love video game music and want to stay on top of the latest releases. Well, I'll do my very best to offer you just that.

On this page, you'll find:

  • Daily new video game music releases: According to my data, 84 new VGM albums have come out every month since the beginning of 2026. While I do track and listen to each and every one of them, I see myself as a curator—I'll only share the music I think is worth your time, based on my personal preferences.
  • Video game music news: concerts, vinyl releases, award winners, and special announcements… I'll try and be the best source of VGM news out there.
  • Composer interviews: I've been interviewing VGM composers for years. But until now, I only shared those with my French audience on Patreon. From now on, you'll also get to learn more about your favorite artists in English—and for free! Check out the ones I've already published.

Along with this website, you can also follow my work on Bluesky and Instagram. There's also a convenient RSS feed you can add to your favorite reader to get notified whenever I post something new!

Finally, I want nowplaying.cool to remain free. But, as you can imagine, tracking new releases daily is a very time-consuming task, and I'll always appreciate your support. You can join my Patreon page (I post in French, but hey, learning a new language can be fun, right?), or tip me on Ko-Fi every now and then.

I hope my work will be valuable to you and that you'll find some outstanding new music to add to your playlists!

Special thanks
