If you find yourself in Paris over the next few months, be sure to stop by the Philharmonie de Paris. Starting tomorrow, April 2nd, and running until November 1st, you can immerse yourself in one of the most ambitious exhibitions dedicated to video game music.
Curated by musicologist and author Fanny Rebillard and video game journalist Jean Zeid, Video Games & Music is an innovative showcase of the connection between—you guessed it—music and video games. From the early limitations of 8-bit consoles to the bombastic orchestras that score today's AAA games, the exhibition is a journey that "unfolds like an open world" according to the venue’s website. You'll navigate through different spaces, each featuring interactive modules and stations. Be sure to warm up first—there will be plenty of musical games to enjoy, too!
Chiptune legend and Super Hexagon composer Chipzel has already announced that her work will be featured in the exhibition. French publisher Third Édition will also be releasing the exhibition catalog, which features articles from renowned VGM experts and insights from composers.
