NOWPLAYING has taken many shapes and forms since 2022. What started as a monthly feature for Jeuxvideo.fr quickly became a newsletter, then a podcast and a Patreon page. However, I always felt like I could do more. In fact, as I reevaluated my music consumption in 2025, I therefore subscribed to Qobuz (the French streaming service that pays artists the most). Alas, the service is overlooked at best, unknown at worst—especially in Asia. Manually adding Qobuz links to the service I had been using then (Odesli) was cumbersome. I wanted something that was mine.
There came nwpl.ing (short for nowplaying, you guessed it)—my own short link manager, specifically designed for video game music. With nwpl.ing, I can create easy-to-share album pages and even pimp them up with a link leading to their VGMdb page or to related volumes if necessary. It has become a cornerstone of my work. Most of the articles you read on nowplaying.cool stem from a nwpl.ing page in the first place.
Yet, nwpl.ing is more than a mere link manager. On the "Collection" page, you can get an overview of all the links I've created since launch (592 albums, as of writing!). Easy to browse, it allows you to quickly catch up with new releases and to listen to soundtracks on your favorite streaming service. You also get access to monthly playlists I put together daily—albeit some of them are paywalled for my Patreon subscribers; more on that below. Oh, and if you ever find yourself short of inspiration, why don't you give that good old Konami code a go?
