Square Enix to celebrate Final Fantasy X 25th Anniversary with a new 2LP

Square Enix to celebrate Final Fantasy X 25th Anniversary with a new 2LP

Arguably the most beloved entry after Final Fantasy VII (and IX?), Final Fantasy X will blow out its 25 candles next July 19. To prepare for the festivities, Square Enix has launched a new website centralizing the new merch that will be available for the anniversary.

As far as we're concerned, the Japanese studio will notably release a new vinyl (2LP), dubbed Eternal Calm, compiling some of the most iconic tracks from Nobuo Uematsu's original soundtrack. This new record will feature exclusive artwork by Tetsuya Nomura, depicting Tidus and Yuna. It will be released on July 1, priced at ¥9,350 on the Japanese store. However, it should join Square Enix's regional store catalogs in the coming weeks. Here's the full tracklist:

Disc 1 — Side A

  1. Zanarkand
  2. Otherworld
  3. This Is Your Story
  4. Tidus's Theme
  5. Besaid
  6. Blitz Off!

Disc 1 — Side B

  1. Enemy Attack
  2. Fight With Seymour
  3. The Truth Revealed
  4. A Contest Of Aeons

Disc 2 — Side A

  1. Hum Of The Fayth
  2. Spira Unplugged
  3. Yuna's Theme
  4. The Sending
  5. Servants of the Mountain
  6. Via Purifico

Disc 2 — Side B

  1. Yuna's Decision
  2. SUTEKI DA NE (Isn't It Wonderful?)
  3. A Fleeting Dream
  4. Ending Theme

Another compilation, this one dedicated to Zanarkand, is expected on July 1 for ¥2,420. It isn't quite clear yet whether this arrangement album will get a physical release or be digital-only. Finally, Final Fantasy X will also get the "House Grooves" treatment—named after the House arrangement albums produced by Square Enix. The latest one, dedicated to Final Fantasy IX, was released a few weeks ago.

These new releases add to the 20-track picture disc already sold by Square Enix on its official store. Meanwhile, the full OST CD can be purchased as an import, notably from CD Japan.
