Sometimes, my morning routine boils down to a quiet "Oh really? You're showing up now?" when I suddenly discover that the OST for a game released over two years ago has just hit streaming platforms. That was the case this morning for Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island—originally released in December 2024—which finally dropped its sweet OST everywhere today.
Composed by the duo Aether (about whom I could find frustratingly little online, much to my regret), the soundtrack for Mythwrecked consists of 18 very gentle tracks driven by acoustic guitar and airy vocals that accompany Alex as she explores the wondrous island she’s been shipwrecked on. The tracks swing between relaxing and mesmerizing, making you just want to tilt your head back and close your eyes.
Developed by Polygon Treehouse, the creators of Röki, Mythwrecked received widespread praise upon release, particularly for its contemplative feel. Alex Kanaris-Sotiriou, co-founder of the studio, is one of the most active voices for indie dev on Bluesky, where he passionately shares behind-the-scenes insights into his games and comments on the (gloomy) state of the industry.
Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is currently 45% off on Steam. It is also available on PS5, Switch and Xbox.
