Make yourself at home : the World of Warcraft housing soundtrack has arrived

Keep thinking about your character's home during your daily commute.

Finally introduced in World of Warcraft for the latest expansion, Midnight, the famous MMORPG’s housing system allows anyone to acquire a plot of land and decorate it to their liking. It’s essentially a game within a game, featuring its own mechanics and, naturally, a bespoke soundtrack.

Blizzard Entertainment has reunited with its favorite composers—notably David Arkenstone, a veteran of the game’s tavern music—to provide this alternative game mode with a relaxing yet rigorously authentic Azerothian soundscape. You can expect to hear motifs and instruments that evoke the game's various factions and environments, all wrapped in a cozy atmosphere designed to let you take your time perfecting your interior design.

Full soundtracks for World of Warcraft and other Blizzard titles are available on streaming platforms as well as for purchase on Bandcamp. For those following my previous piece on naming conventions for video game OSTs, you'll note that the American studio has once again shifted its naming style with this latest album.
