If you are a proper gamer, simply reading the word "Daytona" should conjure up a wild Takenobu Mitsuyoshi in the back of your mind for the rest of the day. "Daytona, let's go away," belted out the legendary SEGA SOUND TEAM collaborator a whopping 32 years ago. We will have the pleasure of hearing him this coming July 15th on one of the tracks of Denshattack!’s massive soundtrack, French label Kid Katana Records has announced.
When brainstorming names for Denshattack! music, Takenobu Mitsuyoshi was the first one that came to our mind, at the very first meeting with Fireshine and Undercoders. We messaged him with no expectations, and he was immediately interested in the game. The rest is history!

The legendary singer, who worked on Virtua Fighter, SEGA Rally, and Shenmue, has officialized his participation in Fireshrine's new title—his very first outside of SEGA, and even more notably, for an indie game. He will lend his vocals to a track titled "Infinite Sky," composed by Sean Bialo, one of the biggest names in contemporary neo-retro music alongside Tee Lopes. The two producers previously worked together on Penny's Big Breakaway, which is available to stream and on vinyl at this link.
Denshattack!, which was initially scheduled for release on June 17th, is expected to be one of the highlights of video game music this year. This completely wild game, in which you pull off crazy stunts with a subway train in a highly stylized Japan, is generating a huge buzz thanks to the absolutely insane lineup invited for the soundtrack.
