When you're a video game composer, part of the job is adaptability—leaving personal preferences behind to deliver what the client needs. Few studios have proven to be as versatile guns for hire as Finishing Move, Inc. They're true chameleons.
Just a couple of months after the American studio returned to heavy metal with the killer soundtrack for the DOOM: The Dark Ages DLC, Finishing Move is back with the score to another Microsoft-owned IP, Grounded 2. It's hardly a surprise, given that the composers had already crafted music for additional content in the first game.
The new release features 35 tracks—obviously far lighter than DOOM, but charming in their own right. While the game is still in early access, it has already convinced players that this sequel is well worth their time. As for Grounded, its live-service nature ensures that new content (and thus new music) will continue to pour in as development progresses. Finishing Move will undoubtedly be there for the ride.
