An indie director of short films he calls his "parallel universes"—what could be more fitting for composing the music of a new Silent Hill?
While we’re still waiting on a firm release date for Silent Hill: Townfall, Konami has released the first preview of its soundtrack—a track titled 'Home' by Canadian producer Pilotpriest (Anthony Scott Burns).
Accompanied by static in-game shots of St. Amelia—the setting of the game by Screen Burn (co-published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive)—this first track establishes an atmosphere perfectly in line with previous entries in the series. With melancholy in tow, 'Home' already seems to say a lot about the story of Simon Ordell, the protagonist of Silent Hill: Townfall.
This marks only the second time since the series' inception in 1999 that the legendary Akira Yamaoka is not composing the score for a new installment. The late Daniel Licht (Dishonored), who passed away in 2017, had previously composed the soundtrack for Silent Hill: Downpour in 2012.
