Just 24 hours after releasing the "dark mode" remix of "Fixer's Song," Sunset Visitor has finally dropped the full original soundtrack for their hit game 1000xRESIST on all streaming platforms. Since the game's release in May 2024, the OST had remained a Bandcamp and Steam exclusive. Earlier this year, the soundtrack—co-composed by Drew Redman and Line Katcho—was also pressed onto vinyl by Very Ok Vinyl.
Spread across three volumes, the 1000xRESIST soundtrack spans 85 tracks and over 4.5 hours of music. It is a two-headed musical beast, playing out like a dialogue between Drew Redman's deeply melodic, melancholy-tinged piano pieces and Line Katcho's intoxicating electronic loops. "The challenge is writing music that can loop seamlessly," Drew told me during our interview published last year. Meanwhile, his co-composer shared some behind-the-scenes insights into the creation of one of my personal favorite tracks, "Guest."
A Peabody Award winner, 1000xRESIST is one of the most breathtaking narrative games I have ever played, and simply listening to some of its themes is enough to bring tears to my eyes. I am thrilled that the Canadian studio took the initiative to bring the OST to streaming platforms, giving it a second life and making it much easier to share on social media.
Prove You're Human, the studio's new game announced a few weeks ago, does not have a release date yet. However, we already know that Drew and Line will team up once again for the music—a brief snippet of which can already be heard in the announcement trailer below, as well as in the behind-the-scenes video uploaded by the studio a few weeks back.
