Almost exactly a year after the release of No Man's Sky: Journey and its companion compilation of new music, Hello Games and Laced Records have dropped an EP dedicated to the game's latest update: Cosmos. You can stream all five new tracks on your platform of choice using the links above.
There's no sign of 65daysofstatic this time around. Instead, studio audio director Paul Weir helms five exclusive tracks: kaleidoscopic electronic soundscapes that channel No Man's Sky's signature ambient pads, even if they slightly miss the soaring post-rock punch that made the British math-rock outfit so instrumental to the space sim's early identity.
As a reminder, today is Bandcamp Friday, meaning the platform waives its revenue share on all purchases. True to Laced Records' usual playbook, the new EP should land on the label's Bandcamp page later today. Vinyl enthusiasts will also want to keep a close eye out for a potential repress on Laced's webstore. While there's no official word yet, a fresh musical drop like this could bring good news with it, right?
