Three weeks after the game's release, Milan Records is putting out Sam Slater's original soundtrack for *Saros*. It features 15 tracks, including the guest track "Reputation" by famous IDM producer Daniel Avery. Judging by the label and Sony's track record, a physical release may be on its way. [A vinyl for *Ghost of Yotei*](https://nowplaying.cool/ghost-of-yotei-2xlp-is-now-up-for-preorder/) was announced not so long ago.

*Saros*'s music is a big shift from Bobby Krlic's score for *Returnal*. More droney, heavier, but also kind of less melodic, I found the soundtrack to be relatively okay. In fact, I think the same about the game as a whole. I had a decent time with it, but it didn't really spark the same flame its predecessor did. To be fair, *Saros* is so fast-paced I didn't really have the opportunity to focus on the music. Let's see how this all sounds outside the game, shall we?

Sam Slater's career in scoring is relatively new. Like his wife, Hildur Guðnadóttir, he made a name for himself with *Joker* (2020), and then with the bold, experimental soundtrack to *Battlefield 2042*. He's a pretty active electronic music producer, though. His latest LP, *Luung*, was released last February, and features some tunes that would fit perfectly in Carcosa.
