Tracking new VGM releases since 2022

The Red Strings Club composer brings her unique touch to the latest Minecraft update

The Spanish composer fingerspit—best known for The Red Strings Club or, more recently, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood—is joining the Minecraft family!

As is now tradition at Mojang Studios, every new "game drop" is accompanied by an EP handled by composers from various backgrounds. Following in the footsteps of Lena Raine (Celeste), Amos Roddy (Citizen Sleeper), Aaron Cherof (Cobalt Core), Andrew Prahlow (Outer Wilds), and others, Deconstructeam's resident musician has delivered six tracks of unparalleled beauty that fit perfectly into Minecraft's musical DNA.

"Minecraft was a safe place for me and somehow finding myself making music for it almost a decade and a half later, feels absolutely surreal", says the composer on her Instagram.

She will, of course, be scoring the studio's next game, Virtue and a Sledgehammer, which is slated for release this year. I'm really looking forward to hearing more—fingerspit is easily in my top five favorite composers. Her track "The Red Strings Club" sits among some of the most streamed VGM songs in history, with almost 6 million streams.
