As teased a few weeks back with the release of [the promising lead single](https://nowplaying.cool/star-wars-galactic-racers-ost-will-drop-on-october-6-listen-to-the-first-single-now/), "The Soul of Racing", the complete soundtrack to *Star Wars: Galactic Racer* dropped across all major streaming platforms today to fuel the game's launch momentum. You can listen on Spotify, Apple Music, and other major platforms via the embed above.

It has been only two months since Gordy Haab's previous *Star Wars* score ([remember *Zero Company*?](https://nowplaying.cool/the-star-wars-zero-company-soundtrack-by-grammy-winning-gordy-haab-is-now-streaming/)), yet here we are again, treated to 21 fresh tracks tailored to channel the high-octane rush of pod racing. According to the composer on social media, *Galactic Racer* offered him the chance to experiment with new techniques and broaden his palette while honoring John Williams' legacy and the sweeping orchestral signature *Star Wars* fans know and love.

Developed by Fuse Games—an up-and-coming UK studio founded by Criterion veterans in 2023—*Star Wars: Galactic Racer* looks like the racing game fans of the franchise have been anticipating for over two decades. Bolstered by a full-fledged campaign, *Galactic Racer* remains a pure arcade racer at heart, earning glowing praise from critics. As of this writing, the game sits at a solid 87 on OpenCritic—yet another highlight in one of the most stacked years for gaming in recent memory.

While players have undoubtedly been eating well lately, the broader industry remains in a precarious spot amid relentless rounds of layoffs. [I sat down with a dozen video game composers](https://nowplaying.cool/how-indie-game-composers-are-surviving-the-layoff-storm/) to discuss how they are weathering the storm and what the future holds for game audio.
