# Of course Ice Nine Kills teamed up with Dead By Daylight for their latest single

The Boston metalcore band joins the growing list of groups to pen a track for Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical survival game. Listen to "Play Dead" now on YouTube and [all major streaming platforms](https://link.iceninekills.com/playdead). A bunch of exclusive cosmetics has also launched in the game to celebrate the release.

It's an effective new anthem, released to mark the 10th anniversary of the game that pits a group of survivors against a killer drawn from the world's most iconic survival horror franchises. This is fertile ground for metal bands, particularly Ice Nine Kills, who love to cultivate a gore-drenched horror image.

The music video actually ties into the game's lore and wraps up with a short skit featuring skateboarding legend Tony Hawk alongside actors Devon Sawa (*Final Destination*) and Krsy Fox (*Terrifier 3*).

“Ice Nine Kills has always lived somewhere between menace and mischief. ‘Play Dead,’ our take on *Dead by Daylight*, is a collision of hooks, horror and total chaos,” said the band's vocalist Spencer Charnas in a statement shared with [NME](https://www.nme.com/news/gaming-news/ice-nine-kills-dead-by-daylight-tony-hawk-new-single-play-dead-3953467?utm%5Fsource=rss&utm%5Fmedium=rss&utm%5Fcampaign=ice-nine-kills-dead-by-daylight-tony-hawk-new-single-play-dead). “Collaborating with *Dead by Daylight* gave us the chance to step into a world that feels deeply aligned with our creative instincts. The game has an incredible legacy, and that chaotic, eerie, immersive energy is something we respect and admire. We wanted the song to feel like a real extension of that universe, not just inspired by it, but genuinely part of it.”
