I was certainly expecting music-related announcements during Tuesday's Nintendo Direct celebrating 40 years of *The Legend of Zelda*. The Japanese publisher dedicated a substantial portion of the anniversary Direct to showcasing the upcoming remake of *The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time*, slated exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5\. To mark the occasion, [a first preview track is already available to stream on Nintendo Music](https://nowplaying.cool/heres-your-first-look-at-zelda-ocarina-of-time-remakes-music/).

It's thrilling to see Nintendo fully embrace *Zelda*'s musical legacy, complete with iconic composer Koji Kondo taking the stage during the Direct to introduce this exclusive concert series. With the vinyl edition of *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* dropping just last week, I'll admit I was also hoping for a vinyl box set reveal for *Ocarina of Time* or *Tears of the Kingdom*.

Still, with Nintendo, anything is possible: just this spring, the company [dropped the *Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2* original soundtracks exclusively on Spotify](https://nowplaying.cool/super-mario-galaxy-1-2-official-soundtracks-are-now-streaming-exclusively-on-spotify/) to celebrate the theatrical release of the animated film.
