# That Marvel's Wolverine vinyl pales in comparison to Spider-Man's pressings

Yesterday, Hollywood Records quietly opened pre-orders for a *Marvel's Wolverine* vinyl record. Slated for release in mid-December, it'll set you back $30\. As of this writing, it seems the pressing is an Amazon US exclusive—I haven't been able to track it down at any of the usual European VGM distributors. This release is, to put it mildly, underwhelming. It settles for standard key art from the PS5 game and includes just 9 of the 21 tracks composer David Fleming penned for Insomniac Games' latest. That's a major letdown, especially in light of Mondo's deluxe *Marvel's Spider-Man* pressings. To be fair, Mondo built its reputation on bespoke, collector-grade physical releases. Note the past tense, though; Mondo's parent company, Funko, reportedly gutted its vinyl department last summer.

That doesn't soften the blow, though. Even if *Marvel's Wolverine* has its fair share of rough edges, its cinematic ambition is undeniable.
