Released at the end of last May, this charming creature-collection RPG (think *Pokémon*\-like) won players over with its delightful unique style, engaging storyline, and rich gameplay. In the background unfolds a beautifully retro orchestral score that perfectly channels classic JRPG vibes, crafted by a highly talented trio of Italian composers.

While an initial EP dropped back in 2023 alongside the game's demo, *Lumentale*’s full original soundtrack is on a whole different level. Split across three volumes—Mythos, Logos, and Battle+Extra—it boasts a whopping 148 tracks spanning nearly five and a half hours of music. It is a massive undertaking, especially for a debut game.

I love how the soundtrack occasionally veers off the beaten path to match the shifting tone of certain scenes, like with "Iris Hamlet Destroyed," where you almost expect an MC to drop a rap verse. All in all, it is an inspired, diverse score that will allow anyone who has already finished the adventure to extend their journey in Talea just a little longer. Oh, and did I tell you the ending credit song features Emi Evans from *NieR*?
