After the wonderful departure that was *Farthest Frontier* (which remains one of my absolute favorite OSTs to this day), Steve Pardo is returning to his roots. To mark the release of *Fangs of Asterkarn*, an ambitious new campaign for the hack-and-slash game *Grim Dawn* (its first since 2019!), the American composer is picking back up his war drums for a dark, desperate soundtrack that is, as always, superbly produced.

Alternating between ambient, atmospheric pieces that still have plenty going on in the background, and thunderous, war-like tracks ('Sins of the Past' and its 8-minute runtime are a must-listen!), Steve Pardo never misses a chance to enhance his orchestral compositions with an ever-welcome electric guitar, adding a gritty edge to *Grim Dawn*’s music.
