Musical shifts have always fascinated me. So, when I learned that Swedish duo Two Feathers—whom I discovered through the Metal: Hellsinger OST (which we are still waiting for on streaming platforms...)—were returning for a game as cute as Witchspire, it genuinely made me smile.
Perfectly at home with orchestral music, as seen in their regular collaborations with Riot Games on League of Legends tracks, Elvira and Nicklas deliver a beautifully soft album here. It is exactly what a cozy, witchy, co-op crafting game needed.
Launched in Early Access last week, Witchspire is the debut game from Envar Studio, which previously did a lot of outsourcing work for other development studios. The game is generating a lot of buzz on social media and certainly seems on track for major success. At the time of writing, it is nearing 900 positive reviews on Steam, where it is currently an exclusive release.
