Released this very week, *CICADAMATA"* is a fast-paced FPS that bears an unmistakable resemblance to Angel Matrix's hit. But instead of playing cards in a roguelike fashion, you blast your way through otherworldly levels via relentless bunny hopping. As the artwork for the soundtrack's first volume suggests, *CICADAMATA"* draws heavy inspiration from *Marathon*'s aesthetic, mixed with a dash of cyber-Y2K flair reminiscent of the *WipEout* series. Clearly, this isn't your average boomer shooter; it's as striking to look at as it is thrilling to listen to. I wasn't familiar with crisp beforehand, but I can already tell the producer has impeccable taste. Their soundtrack doesn't feel like a cheap Machine Girl ripoff—it stands proudly on its own, boasting a distinctive, dreamy edge while keeping die-hard breakbeat fans well-fed.
