A new challenger has entered the video game music scene, and it’s a big one. This Monday, March 30th, Bandcamp launched The Game Show, a new radio program dedicated to VGM. For just over an hour, journalist Zoe Camp spins some of the best tracks from recent soundtracks and chats with her guest Eric Daino about the score for Parking Garage Rally Circuit. If you’re a fan of ska, I highly recommend checking out the game's OST, as well as the DLC soundtrack that just dropped. You’ll find all the links to the album on your favorite platforms at the bottom of this article.
Bandcamp has been the go-to platform for video game composers to share their work for years. In case you didn't know, Bandcamp offers artists a much fairer revenue split compared to streaming services. In fact, a composer once told me that a single purchase on Bandcamp is roughly equivalent to an entire year of streams on Spotify.
As you might know if you follow me on social media, I’m passionate about sharing the fairest ways to support artists. Almost every month, Bandcamp hosts "Bandcamp Fridays"—a 24-hour window where the platform waives its commission. This means nearly 100% of the proceeds go directly to the artists. You can count on me to share some VGM picks during the next one! In the meantime, go check out The Game Show hosted by Zoe Camp, available for free on Bandcamp.
