# Austin Wintory explores grief with the soundtrack for 'The House of Hikmah', recorded in Saudi Arabia

The most recent Grammy Award winner for Best Video Game Soundtrack (for *Sword of the Sea* — a hidden gem) is teaming up with the young studio Lunacy for the release of *The House of Hikmah*. This adventure game takes place "*in a mythical version of the Islamic Golden Age*," as Wintory put it on [his Bandcamp page](https://austinwintory.bandcamp.com/album/the-house-of-hikmah).

The OST was recorded in just under a week in Saudi Arabia, featuring a stellar lineup of musicians specialized in traditional instruments—but that’s not all! You can actually hear traces of an accordion, which must give the whole score a very distinct feel.

*The House of Hikmah* is the debut game from Lunacy Studios, which is made up of folks who previously worked on *Rise of the Tomb Raider*, *Borderlands 4* and *Tales of Kenzera: ZAU*.
